Let me first explain the title of this blog. I have to watch the news everyday to see what is going on in the world. Many days it's the same news from the day before or they find some old story about cops or the mortgage crisis and so Marc and I have a standing joke that it must be a slow news day. A lot of days at our house are slow news days. So I forget to update my blog but my sister reminded me I needed to so here it goes. Sit down grab a diet coke and chocolate donut and keep your tray tables in the upright position and here we go.
Let's start first with Brandon. He is still going to school, and doing okay if he would just turn in his homework. It must be a boy thing. He still loves to tear apart and rebuilt nerf guns. He was ordained a teacher in January, it is really great to have the priesthood in my home even if it is only the Aaronic Priesthood. It's so hard to think my baby is now a teenager. No girlfriends yet but stay tuned to see if he gets one.
Marc can not wait til Spring to get out and ride the Harley. That is if he ever gets it put back together. Actually he and Bill have been working on it and fixing the leaks. And now he's decided to paint it since it's all tore apart. I am truly thankful for Bill who let him tear it apart in his garage not mine. He still is doing security at the new Quirrah Mtn. Temple in South Jordan and at the movie theater. He plays basketball on Friday's then comes home and complains about how old he is.
I guess I am next. I am still secretary in the Primary. I am sure many people wish I wasn't after last Sunday. I need to learn to keep my mouth shut, but I just can't when it comes to kids being rude to other kids. I let everyone know especially parents, I'll leave it at that, let's just say my mom would have been embarrassed at what I said. I'm still working (YEAH!), the mortgage field is so weird right now, I do a lot of loan proposals but not a whole lot of loans. I must admit I can't wait for spring to ride with Marc and watch some good high school softball.
Last but not least Johna !!! Her life is never a slow news day. Let's see where should I start, I know at the beginning but where is the beginning with her. Ok here is the college update. She applied to Standford, BYU, U of U, UVU, and Salt Lake Community College. And the answer from all of them YES!!!! we want you to be a student at our school. She was so excited and now the decision where to go but the bigger question is who will give me a scholarship to go to their school. Stay tuned for the decision. Softball tryouts are next week so she has been working hard for those. Speaking about work she is working again for Hapari Swimwear, so if you need a swimsuit go visit her. You can look at their suits on the web at www.hapari.com.
I guess that is our slow news day. I will post some new pictures soon, my camera died so I have not been taking any new ones.
Catching Up
Ok, I know it has been forever since I have updated our blog. But nothing real exciting has been going on. It seems that time just gets away from me and before I realize it, the New Year is here.
We had a great Christmas this year. Our Holiday Season started out with my Grandma staying with us for a week then on Christmas Eve she went to my moms house. I love just talking with my grandma, she has always been a great friend in my life. I lived with my grandma my senior year in high school and it was so much fun. So having her at my house brought back lots of memories.
Christmas Eve was spent at my mom's annual Christmas Party where all the extended relatives come eat, visit and just have fun. Then we get to open our PJ's from Santa. As usual Marc had to work so when he got home at just after midnight we decided to wake up the kids (17 & 14 remember) and let them open all their presents. It was a lot of fun but the best thing of all I got to sleep in til 9 am on Christmas Morning.
This Christmas was a lot of fun because it was Kaesen's 1st Christmas. It is so much fun to have a baby around. He was only 3 1/2 months old but it was fun.
New Year's came and went. We spent New Year's at home with Johna and Mike (Johna's Boyfirend). Brandon was at a party at his friends house. I enjoyed watching TV and eating ice cream with everyone.
My days are filled with work, helping Johna apply to college, making sure Brandon's homework is done, I am grateful to still have a job. Being in the Mortgage field is kindda scary. But I must say that I have been really busy since rates dropped.
Johna has been applying to college and for scholarships, I was never so glad to see Feb. 1st come. That is the deadline for applying for scholarships. She is nervous about the whole issue but don't worry, she is a great student and has great ACT scores and most of all any school would be lucky to have her as a student.
She has huge bragging rights at our house right now for 2 Term grades came out and she had a PERFECT 4.00, she has worked so hard for Perfection and finally obtained it. We won't discuss Brandon's grades, that is a whole another story.
Tonight is another huge night for Johna she is receiving her Young Women's Recognition Award. I thought she had a lot of work to complete to the award. But I have to do a spotlight on her using PowerPoint. And boy is that a lot of work and I only had 2 days to get it done. It has been fun going through old pictures and remembering her as a little girl.
Marc & I can't wait for warm weather so we can get out on the bike and ride. That about catches everyone up on our lives.
